Just where is this year going?!
You don’t have to tell us that we have been very behind in updating the blog of late – life seems to be a bit of a blur with so much going on!
Don’t worry though, it doesn’t mean that we’ve been neglecting our love of music – in fact it’s quite the opposite, which we realised this week while pouring over all our photographs from the many gigs and festivals we’ve been to over the last few months.
You can treat yourself to a selection of our best shots over on our Flickr page or just take a peak below for some of our fave moments…
Fenech Soler, Patterns, Brighton – 24th February
We have missed these boys while they’ve been away working on new music. We were double-booked (another gig) for their London date so made the journey down to Brighton to catch them performing music from new album Zilla. Despite the venue kicking them off the stage way too early, we had an amazing time!

The XX, Brixton Academy, London – 9th March
Tickets to see The XX are like gold dust. Why? Because they are completely mind-blowing live!

Glass Animals, Brixton Academy, London – 16th March
Wow. How the love of all things pineapple, sorry, Glass Animals, has well and truly taken hold! Another band that we have loved to see come out of their shell and grow since the first time we saw them live. Now shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize for their album How To Be A Human Being (much deserved), we can’t wait to see what’s next in store for them.

Soulwax, Electric Brixton, London – 8th April
What an incredible live show! If you’ve ever heard any of Soulwax’s creations, you must get yourself in front of them to see them live. Even the idiots in the crowd (they know who they are) couldn’t hamper what was a superb evening – the drumming was immense!!

Metronomy, Brixton Academy, London – 19th May
We always say that Metronomy are an acquired taste…if you haven’t acquired it yet, you really need to (if only just to see how excited Kate gets at one of their gigs)! You can’t fail but to leave with a smile on your face.

Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton – 22nd-25th June
We weren’t even really thinking about going to Glasto this year – we always try and fail to get tickets so it wasn’t really on our radar. Amazingly, friend of the blog Dave achieved the unachievable and managed to get us tickets – thank you Dave!! It was such an incredible experience and managed to turn cynic Kate into its biggest fan. We even pitched our own tent this year!

Citadel, Victoria Park, London – 16th July
Such a brilliant day – brilliant music, brilliant weather, brilliant activities, brilliant food and drink, brilliant people, brilliant organisation… How a true day festival should be – well done Citadel!
