Who is Lisbee?

Lisbee (full name Lisbee Stainton) is a London-based singer-songwriter who has been writing and performing music for over two thirds of her life.

 

How did you first come across her?

We actually know her Dad (cos we’re cool like that)!

Through her Dad we were invited to watch her perform at Cecil Sharp House back in 2013, to accompany the release of her previous album, Word Games.

You obviously liked what you heard? 

We did, so it was a pleasure to be able to see her perform again last week as she previewed her new album (release date TBC).

How would you describe her sound? 

Lisbee’s roots are in folk music and she plays a variety of instruments, including guitar and banjo. Having previously toured with the likes of Seth Lakeman, her new album sees her experimenting with a new sound, drawing on more pop and rock influences.

Lisbee will be playing at The London Folkfest in June. You can get your tickets here.

What else should I know?

Lisbee was the first unsigned singer-songwriter to play at the O2 in London, back in 2007.
