Rovinj , Croatia  (8^th-12^th September)

Before we knew it, it was Saturday, our last full day in Rovinj…and the sun finally decided it was time to shine! Hurrah! (A bit late now sun, but thanks!) We couldn’t leave Croatia behind without having one final seafood feast (calamari, mussels, scallops, other random fish – delicious!!)

Then back to Amarin to pack 😦 The resort seemed almost like a ghost town as many of our friends had left for home during the day.

Not sure what to expect, we later wandered down to the pool terrace to see if anything was happening. As we got closer, we heard that comforting bass and knew that some people were still keeping the spirit alive for one final eve. With lots of familiar faces from the week gracing the decks, the mood was relaxed and everyone was keen to make the most of every last moment. With many due to be picked up early doors the next day, it was perhaps not one of the more crazy nights of the week but, as the sun set on Unknown, it was a fitting end to what felt like a whirlwind week.

 

So, overall, an incredible week full of memories that are unlikely to fade for a long time. Perhaps what made it such a great week were the people who helped make the atmosphere and the experience what it was. Fantastic music, a varied line up, the perfect crowd…and rain – what more could we ask for (other than perhaps a bit more sun!)?!

A little note however: while it may have been an amazing week Unknown, what could have raised things to the next level would have been an extra push on the finer details… release details a bit earlier, make sure everyone knows when you change the line-up/ set times, make contingencies for boat/ island parties being cancelled, sort the stupid shuttle service out(!), ask the resort to clean the rooms, and put in an order for a large helping of SUN!
